Gold paint has a multitude of uses in crafting. A touch of gold paint on a piece of wood can make a dull piece look refined. With some burnishing, a gold finish can make a crafted piece look older or antique. Gold paint can tarnish over time, so it’s important to put a finish coat of lacquer over it. For a truly gold look, gilding with gold leaf is more appropriate.
Step One
Paint a frame with gold paint to make a scrapbook page, poster, picture or other framed item stand out and appear more regal.
Step Two
Roll pine cones in gold paint or use a brush to paint the edges. Sprinkle the wet paint with glitter for more sparkle. The resulting pine cone can be used as a holiday ornament or hung in a window.
Step Three
Paint pieces of wood or plastic with gold paint to make them look like metal. The resulting pieces can then be used in any craft project.
Step Four
Sand off a rusty or tarnished piece of screen or other metal piece and spray paint it gold to rejuvenate the piece.
Step Five
Clean up an old planter box, side table or outdoor furniture and paint it gold to liven it up and make it look cleaner.
