Maintaining your eyes can be hard, since we’re used to the bad habits that harm our eyes, like too much light and not taking breaks. Following these steps will help you learn to maintain your eyesight.

Step One

Have regular eye examinations.

Step Two

Try to prevent diseases. Eye diseases are the culprits for blindness.

Step Three

Protect your eyes from the sun. Wear sunglasses, so you can prevent cataracts.

Step Four

Consume antioxident-rich food. Studies show that zinc, and other types of antioxidants, reduces the risk of getting macular degeneration.

Step Five

Don't drink alcohol a lot. Alcohol dehydrates the eyes.

Step Six

Don't smoke. Smoking can cause cataracts macular degeneration.

Step Seven

Limit your time on the computer. Staring at a screen for hours without a break will cause the central retina to become weak.

Step Eight

Take five-minute breaks every hour.

Step Nine

Once in a while, focus on distant objects to relieve the stress on your eyes.
