Many of us would love to give the home a makeover, every year. Some of us would even do it every few months if we could! There’s just something so refreshing about a house that’s just been redecorated. Unfortunately, not many of us have the budget to constantly revamp the home. This means we’re left with tired looking decor, for the majority of the time. If you’d like to be able to give your house a spruce up more often, follow these clever tips and tricks.

The Walls

These form the main part of your home, so are a good place to get started. You can give your property a freshen up simply by giving your walls a clean. Some warm soapy water and a soft sponge should do the trick. If you fancy something different, consider buying a tester pot of paint. This should be enough to do a feature wall in one room. You can completely transform the look of a home, for a couple of quid maximum. If you don’t want a whole feature wall, consider painting the bottom part of your walls another colour. This can also making your ceilings look higher. Win-win!

The Floors

There’s nothing worse than tired looking floors. Again, giving them a spruce up could just be a case of giving them a wash. You can invest in carpet cleaning services for any stubborn stains. Alternatively, attack the floors yourself. Lino and wood usually just need a good scrub. The same applies to laminate flooring. Carpets can be a little harder to deal with. If you do have soft flooring, have you considered pulling it up? There may be some beautiful wood boards under there. All you’d need to do is sand them down and give them a varnish. Now you’ve transformed your house, again for just a few pounds. You can also paint floors if you’ve run out of other ideas.

Clever Hacks

There are so many DIY hacks out there, we could spend ages telling you about them all. You can transform something tired looking and useless, into a whole new piece of furniture. Upcycling has become extremely popular nowadays. If you’re a whizz with a sander and paintbrush, it should be really easy for you to do. You can then replace all of the furniture in your home. Except you’re not replacing it… You’re just refurbishing it. Use Pinterest and other websites for inspiration, and get upcycling.

Finishing Touches

Sometimes, it’s just the small things that can make a big difference. Usually, this is in the form of soft furnishings or accessories. If you want to revamp the home without spending a fortune, consider making some new curtains. Or putting in some cushions. You could even change your lampshades. These finishing touches can make your house feel fresh and new. Without having to break the bank.

Who said that giving your home a revamp was expensive? These clever tips show that it can be done on a budget. Give them a try this weekend. You may be surprised at what a difference they can make!
