We all wish we had a bit more space in our home, but when we can’t afford a move or don’t want to part with beloved items, it can make it tough. But, you are only limited by your imagination and willingness to achieve what you want.

There are a wide range of methods you can make use of in order to create some more space without a complete clearance. Here are 5 of them:

1.  Hire a Rubbish Removal Service

Many of us won’t get rid of unwanted items, like old furniture and electronics, because we simply don’t have the time of motivation to deal with them correctly. If you hire the help of a rubbish removal service based in London however, you won’t have to worry about any of the hardships that come with a clearance. Professionals can take care of the heavy lifting (preventing possible injury) and can ensure your items get either recycled or reused.

2.  Make Better use of Your Available Storage

If you look around your flat or house, you’re likely to find a great deal of unused storage. Maybe there is a closet that has hardly anything in it, or a draw that’s only harbouring a few utensils. Carefully moving items into these spaces will free up a great deal of living space and clutter in your home. Remember to stack your items in the most space-efficient way possible. This way, you’ll be able to get the most space possible out of it.

3.   Think Vertically

If you walk around your home, you’ll probably be surprised at how many of your items are horizontally aligned on surfaces and in storage units. This is often instinctual as we tend to think horizontally when it comes to placing objects, for example when stacking books in a book shelf.

But if you look for opportunities to stack objects on top of one another, you may find you have more space and you previously thought. People may find these methods alone will give them the space they need to, if this if this is not the case for you, read on. There are two more methods that may be able to help.

4.  Selling and Donating Items

If you need to create space and make a few extra pounds whilst you do it, this might be the right tactic for you. You could actually make quite a lot of money from selling things you don’t use anymore, just don’t go spending that money on more clutter!

Or, if you’re feeling generous you could donate your items to those less fortunate than you. Charity shops will accept a variety of items depending on their condition, so why not give it a go?

5.   Pay for Storage Space

As a last resort, you can always pay for storage space. This may be the right option for you if you have items which you don’t need now/have space for, but know you’ll want in the future. Although this can be an expensive method, it may be what’s best for you if you simply can’t part with anything.

Stop feeling unhappy with your home and don’t accept that having a cluttered house is the only option left. Try some of the above methods to create some space and see if they can help you out.
