Stone pathways have a casual look and are easy to build for the beginner landscaper, but one frustrating aspect of stone pathways, is the prevalent weeds that continue to grow throughout the spring and summertime. Weeds growing in your pathway can look sloppy and ruin the curb appeal of your home, affecting it’s value. There are several steps you can take to keep the weeds under control.
Step One
Before laying your stone pathway, line the pathway with weed-blocking mat. This woven mat will prevent weeds from growing up through the stones for quite some time. Spray the ground with grass and weed killer before laying the weed mat. This will kill existing roots and spores laying latent under your walkway.
