If your Hitachi LCD TV gives the “Service is not running” message after you’ve simply tried to change channel, this guide may help – it worked for me!
Disconnect the aerial
Select Menu, then "install & retune", then "First time Installation"
Say "Yes" to request to delete all stored information
Run "Scan for channels"
You'll get message No channels found, so then reconnect the aerial
Carry out second auto scan - this should resolve your problem - it did for me.Note this procedure was given to me by Hitachi Customer Service. They also advise the TV is left in standby all the time except when you're away! Not sure I like that idea - I'll just carry out the procedure again if the issue reappears.
