A range hood provides a few functions in the kitchen area above the stove. A handy light to illuminate the stove top is built into most range hoods. The hood itself protects the upper cabinets from heat damage. Steam and cooking odors from the stove top are sucked into the range hood’s filtering system and either recirculated into the kitchen or conducted outside. Most range hoods have a replaceable filter element.
Step One
Twist Retaining Clip - Locate the filter element on the underside of the range hood. Twist the retainer clip that secures the front of the filter to the underside of the hood 90 degrees in either direction.
