Stacking your washer and dryer is a good solutions if you lack laundry space. This arrangement differs from vertical laundry centers, which are one solid unit containing a washer and dryer. Stacked washers and dryers are full-sized units that are placed one on top of the other. The front-loading washer sits on the bottom, and the front-loading dryer is positioned atop the washer. Most models can be stacked as long as they are front-loading and the washer has a smooth top with controls on the front, but use a stacking kit to provide stability and safety.
Step One
Purchase a washer and dryer made for stacking, and ask for an accompanying stacking kit. This will make it much easier to stack them together, and it will ensure a proper fit.
