A garden shed is something very nice to have to store all those loose shovels, rakes, potting soil and everything else you have laying around without a home. The problem is finding someone to build you one for a reasonable price. Just follow these instructions and you can build a garden shed on your own.
Run to your local Lowe's or Home Depot and purchase a shed kit. There are many designs and varieties available to build so pick one that suits your needs. Take into consideration the space you have available and what you are planning to store in it.
Make sure that the area where you are putting the shed is level. You may need to dig a little to level it out. You should either pour a concrete base or use wood boards where you will place the garden shed.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions to build the shed. Use the predrilled holes to screw it together.
Seal the windows to protect against leakage and mildew using a frame sealing mastic. This stops water from coming in through the edges of the windows causing mold and mildew to form on the items you have stored in the garden shed.
Insulate the garden shed using fiber glass insulation. This will protect sensitive chemicals or machinery from excessive temperature changes.
Bury any electrical cables under ground. Call an electrician if you do not know how to perform these procedures.
Treat any wood with a preservative to prevent rot. This will need to be reapplied yearly.
