5 Things To Check Before Calling Your central heating boiler Engineer!
It’s a very tedious time when your central heating boiler decides not to work and it usually happens in the middle of winter when you have family stopping over and it’s the coldest day of the year, when you can’t get a gas safe engineer to attend to your boiler or central heating repair for life or money.
We have decided to give you a few pointers so that maybe you’re able to resolve your faulty heating and hot water system issue. It might be something simple.
So here are 5 little things to check before you decide that you need to call out a boiler repair engineer, these little pointers are also a good thing to keep an eye on so your heating system doesn’t breakdown due to some minor fault which can make you feel really silly, like if the gas safe engineer that you call out, just has to flick a switch which you have overlooked, you wouldn’t believe how often this happens.
Power Supply - First thing to check is that the power supply to your Central heating is actually on. Sounds silly but this happens a lot and because customers are in a bit of a panic about their heating it gets missed. Maybe it’s a fuse or the main circuit breaker board has tripped and just needs resetting.
Gas supply - Gas supply can cause lots of central heating or boiler breakdowns, especially if you have a payment meter with a card which can result in the gas being switched off if you run out of gas. Usually the card needs to be inserted and the gas meter reset button pressed in order to re establish the gas supply to your gas boiler or gas combination boiler.
