It’s easy to make an old-fashioned shuttlecock, the feathered ball one hits back and forth in the sport of badminton. Keep reading for detailed instructions.
Step One
Take a piece of wood and make it into a half-sphere.
Step Two
Drill 8-9 holes in a circle into the back of the half-sphere. These should be of a size that will fit the feathers you will add next snugly, not so close to the edge that they are fragile, and tilted outward a bit so the feathers fan out and back.
Step Three
Drip some glue in each hole or use a glue gun in each feather and insert a feather’s hard end first in each hole.
Step Four
Set it to dry. Prop it so the feathers don’t dry mushed on one side making the shuttlecock lopsided.
