Burned pixels, stuck pixels and dead pixels are anomalies on the screen that can be a real nuisance. The problem is that it is often difficult to tell the difference between pixels that are burned or stuck, and those that are dead. Since the solutions for bad pixels are harmless to your Mac, it is worth trying a few different steps to see if you can fix the pixel, whether it is burned, stuck or dead.
Step Two
Massage the area around the stuck pixel with your finger. Again, apply only light pressure. If the pixel is still stuck or burned, continue to the next step.
Step Three
On the Apple Downloads website, download a Dashboard widget called "Pixel Fix." This widget is designed to quickly flicker between red, green and blue to attempt to fix bad pixels.
Step Four
Unzip the downloaded file and double-click the "Pixel Fix" file to install it onto your dashboard.
Step Five
Move the Pixel Fix widget by clicking on it and dragging it until the flashing window is located directly under the bad pixel. Leave the widget running for a few hours to attempt to fix the pixel.
