Power tools are getting easier and easier to use. Instead of needing multiple tools to install and remove a Bosch T-shank jigsaw blade, Bosch has equipped its jigsaws with a tool-less blade-changing system on its jigsaws. Not only does this save time, it also means you have fewer small tools to keep track of. There is a Bosch T-shank blade designed to cut just about every material that will cross your path. Once the blade is installed, you can take control of your project.
Step One
Insert a new, sharp T-shank jigsaw blade into the blade plunger until the blade latches into place. When installed correctly, the back side of the blade will rest inside the groove of the guide roller.
Step Two
Plug the jigsaw into a live electrical outlet and place the jigsaw blade close to the material to be cut. Pull on the trigger switch to turn the jigsaw on and activate the blade plunger. Turn the variable speed dial on the trigger switch to speed up or slow down the blade's movements. For long cuts, consider activating the lock-on button near the trigger switch to reduce finger and hand fatigue.
Step Three
Complete a plunge cut by tipping the jigsaw up onto the toe of its saw foot so the blade is clear of the material to be cut. The material must be soft, like drywall or pine. Pull on the trigger to start the motor and slowly lower the blade into the material until the jigsaw rests flat on its foot. Continue the cut until it is finished. Allow the blade to stop before removing it from the material.
Step Four
Remove a dull blade by turning the blade ejector level clockwise. The blade will eject on its own, and with some degree of force, so point the blade toward the floor so it will fall safely out. Replace the blade as described above.
