How to make a kiddie pencil case

This craft project is a great activity for children of all ages. With a recycled potato chip canister and some basic craft supplies, you can make a pencil case that will show off your personality. Use these steps, and your imagination, to make your own one-of-a-kind case for your pencils.

Step One

Get an empty potato chip canister and wash the inside well. Place it on a towel to dry.

Step Two

Lay out the wallpaper scrap, wrapping paper or construction paper upside down on your workspace. This will make the cover for the can.

Step Three

Place the can on top of paper and use a pencil to mark the top and bottom of the can. Get the scissors and use the marks to cut the paper to the right size.

Step Four

Put glue on the back of the paper and wrap it around the can. Cover the can once around with the paper and cut off any excess paper.

Step Five

Color designs or write your name with the crayons or markers. Add stickers or other embellishments to match your style.

Step Six

Grab your pencils and put them in their new case. Place the top on and your pencil case is now complete.
