How to make a ‘Ploughman’s Sandwich


The ploughman’s sandwich is a popular and traditional food in the UK consisting of cold ingredients. It is suitable for vegetarians (depending on the cheese) and can be made in minutes.

Step One

INGREDIENTS: Wholemeal Bread, Mild Cheddar Cheese, Iceberg Lettuce, Tomato, Mayonnaise, Branston Sweet Pickle, Cucumber.

Step Two

Spread the mayonnaise evenly over both slices of bread.

Step Three

Add a few slices of cheese to one slice of bread.

Step Four

Spread the Branston Sweet Pickle over the cheese on one slice and over the mayonnaise on the other slice.

Step Five

Add a slice of tomato over the sweet pickle covered cheese.

Step Six

Add the iceberg lettuce over the tomato.

Step Seven

Finish off the sandwich by placing one slice of bread over the other.
