Paint can leave stains on wood floors and furniture, ruining the wood’s appearance. No matter how much you may try to protect wood surfaces, paint can splatter onto them. Never use harsh chemicals to dissolve paint, as certain chemicals damage the finish on wood surfaces. You can use a standard paint remover to efficiently clean paint off wood. Removing paint from wood surfaces requires properly protecting yourself and following a basic procedure.
Dampen a clean rag with water, if the paint is still wet. Wipe the rag over the wood to remove most of the paint.
Pour some paint remover into a metal can. Replace the cap on the paint remover container, and then dip a paintbrush into the paint remover in the metal can.
Wipe the residue off the wood, using an old rag. Place the rag outdoors, to prevent inhaling any fumes.
