Fitting a new toilet seat can be done easily with a few simple tools. You’ll need to install a new toilet seat when changing the décor of a bathroom, or if the current toilet seat is old or cracked. There is a wide selection of toilet seats available in many different styles and colors to fit any bathroom décor. These include a variety of colors and textures, such as wood or plastic, and even padded seats. Make sure to measure the current seat so you get the replacement in the correct size.
Measure the size of the current toilet seat from front to back. If there is no toilet seat, measure the size of the rim. Standard American toilet seats are approximately 16-17 inches and elongated seats are about 18-19 inches.
Place the new seat and seat cover in place and fit the anchor bolts through the holes.
