Toilets can become wobbly over time. The water pipe and the floor can loosen and cause a toilet to wobble and rattle every time you sit down. A wobbly toilet can still function properly, but the rocking is a nuisance and can lead to or indicate the development of greater problems with the internal workings of the toilet. Wobbly toilets are typically caused by loose bolts or a wrongly set or damaged wax gasket ring. Take care of a wobbly toilet as soon as possible to ensure that further resulting problems such as leaking do not occur.
Unscrew and disconnect the toilet's water line tube using a wrench.
Remove the old bolts from the slots on the metal flange around the sewer pipe. Replace these flange bolts with clean, new bolts. Replacement flange kits are available it if the metal flange happens to be broken.
