When it comes to vacuum cleaners not many realise that they cannot be used constantly and not maintained. There is a lot more to keeping a vacuum in full working order than simply emptying it when it is full. Exhaust filters need to be replaced (or washed depending on the type of filter) every year. This is to ensure that the filters are working perfectly and thus this will ensure that the vacuum is working effortlessly too.
The tricky part is finding exactly where the filters are located. Some vacuums without bags have two or more filters that need to be washed or replaced every three months to keep the vacuum in tiptop condition. This of course depends upon your vacuum and how often you use it. The more often you use your vacuum
There are three types of exhaust filters; micro filters, HEPA non-washable filters and HEPA washable filters. It all depends on your vacuum as to what filter you are likely to have as to whether it can be cleaned or needs to be replaced.
Washable HEPA filters should be washed according to the instructions in the user manual of your vacuum to ensure that they still function efficiently. However, Micro filters and HEPA non-washable filters cannot be washed and must be replaced with new ones when they are no longer working, or working as well as they had been. But yet, there are ways to ensure that you do not have to constantly replace your filters.
If the filter is made out of foam or plastic it may be possible to rinse and dry the filter between replacements. If your filter is made out of paper or fabric, while you bide your time between having to replace the filter there is the option to shake or pound out the debris out of the filter between replacements.
However, replacing your vacuum filters will need to be done before long in order to ensure that you vacuum works perfectly and does not end up being useless all together. Vacuum filters for most models can be found in hardware stores, home centres and of course vacuum repair shops.
Once you have located where your vacuum filter is and you have bought the right size filter, it is very simple to remove and replace the filter. Once located it can simply be pulled or popped out and the replacement filter put into its place, secured once again and you can start cleaning once again.
It really is that simple. Now you can make sure your vacuum filter is flawless and your home will be too.
