Granite surfaces are popular in kitchens and bathrooms, most often for countertops and worktops. The granite worktops are typically on an isolated island area that provides additional work space when preparing a meal. To clean and care for the granite, you need to use a cleaning solution that will remove dust and build-up without damaging the granite. Take care to avoid improper cleaning products that contain bleach or chemically based ingredients. Clean your granite worktops weekly to keep them in top shape.
Step One
Dust the granite surfaces with a cleaning rag or dust mop.
Step Two
Fill a spray bottle with tap water, and spray the water onto the granite surface. Wipe the surface with the cloth or dust mop to remove light daily build-up.
Step Three
Refill the spray bottle with 2 cups of water and 1 tbsp of either pH-neutral stone soap or pH-neutral dish soap.
Step Four
Spray the soapy water onto your granite surface, and wipe the surface with a damp mop or cleaning rag.
Step Five
Dry the granite with a clean mop or cloth.
