Your computer’s IP (Internet Protocol) address uniquely identifies your computer on the Internet. Your IP address is captured in message forums, payment gateways and anywhere else you travel on the World Wide Web. Every now and then, you may need to change your IP address. This is something you can do without purchasing a new IP address from your Internet service provider.
Type "ipconfig /release" (without the quotations) at the prompt and press "Enter." This will activate the release of the old IP address.
Type "ipconfig /all" at the prompt and press "Enter" to reveal your new IP address.
