When making homemade pizza dough, you can substitute baking powder for yeast if you desire. The baking powder will allow the dough to rise and is a handy alternative if you or a family member is allergic to yeast. Top the yeast-free pizza dough with all of your favorite ingredients, such as mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, pepperoni or sausage, to create a customized treat.
Step One
Combine bread flour, baking powder and salt in a mixing bowl.
Step Two
Pour water and olive oil into the mixing bowl. Stir the ingredients with a wooden spoon until the dough begins to form into a ball. Add a little more water if the dough is too sticky.
Step Three
Sprinkle flour onto your work surface.
Step Four
Place the soft ball of dough onto the flour and knead it for 3 minutes. Roll out or spread the dough onto a nonstick baking sheet. Add sauce and your favorite toppings. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes, or until it is lightly browned.
