'Minecraft: Education Edition' Launches this June Microsoft's official Minecraft: Education Edition will start its life as an early access program (kind similar to what the original game was) in June. The idea is to give educators a chance to give the blocky building game a try over summer break so they can assess how it will integrate into their curriculums and provide feedback along the way. This will also aid in the creation of new lesson plans. Redmond has some, including a tour of the Temple of Artemis, Pyramids of Giza and Anderson Shelters, which were used to shield against bombs during World War II. It will be available for download for both OS X and Windows in a few months, but a beta version will launch in May with more than 100 schools from 30 countries. What’s the worst that could happen This June, 'Minecraft: Education Edition" launches
