I love a beautiful chandelier hanging in a home. A chandelier adds a wonderful touch of class and elegance to any room. The way the light reflects off of the crystals is stunning. But this only lasts as long as the chandelier remains clean. Cleaning chandeliers…Ugh. No more disassembling your chandelier, no more wondering where each crystal goes or why you seem to have additional crystals left over. I used to spend hours and hours cleaning my chandelier, not any more.
Step One
Cover the light bulbs on your chandelier. Some good choices to cover them are: slip a baby sock over each light bulb, wrap each light bulb in plastic wrap or secure a small plastic sandwich bag over each one. Be sure your chandelier is off before beginning the cleaning process.
Step Two
In a spray bottle (about 12 ounces) add very warm water and 1 tablespoon of isopropyl alcohol. Shake well to mix. Isopropyl alcohol can be purchased at a pharmacy.
Step Three
Open an umbrella under the chandelier and place it upside down under it or lay down a thick layer of old newspapers or a few bath towels to catch drips.
Step Four
Generously spray the entire chandelier with the water and isopropyl alcohol mixture. Allow the solution to run and drip off of your chandelier. Repeat if very dirty.
