Remove pet fur from carpets so you can relax on the couch and pet your dog or cat at ease. But that same pet hair that is soothing to the touch is frustrating to see covering your carpet. Vacuuming at least once a week will get most of the pet hair up, but sometimes you will need some extra tools to get the hairs out from between the carpet fibers. The following steps will help you remove pet hair from both your plush carpet and your low-pile carpet (such as an Oriental rug).
Pull your squeegee or rubber rake toward you on the carpet in short quick strokes, as if you are sweeping something into a pile. You will start to see piles of pet hair building up as you sweep.
Wearing rubber or latex gloves, drag your hands over the carpet surface to pick up any stray pet hairs.
