The HP Officejet All-in-One Printer utilizes HP Image Zone software which, when installed on your computer, allows you to scan and manipulated photos, copy, fax and print. The software also provides troubleshooting tips and helpful information. HP All-in-One Printers are reliable and easy to operate and, best of all, require very little maintenance. One thing you can do keep your scans, faxes and copies looking crisp and clear is to regularly clean the scanner glass. Fingerprints, smudges, hair and dust on the scanner glass can slow down performance and affect the accuracy of some of the scanner’s features including the Fit to Page function. Cleaning the scanner glass is easy to do and only takes a couple of minutes.
Step One
Locate the "On/Off" button at the upper left hand corner of the control panel on the front of the HP All-in-One Printer. Insure the printer is turned off. If the printer is not off, press the "On/Off" button and hold until the power turns off.
Step Two
Unplug the power cord of the HP All-in-One printer from the electrical outlet. Raise the scanner lid to its fully opened position.
Step Three
Moisten a soft cloth or sponge with a non-abrasive glass cleaner. Clean the scanner glass by gently rubbing the moistened soft cloth across the surface of the glass. Dry the scanner glass with a chamois to prevent spotting. Inspect the scanner glass to insure a thorough cleaning.
Step Four
Lift the cover of the automatic document feeder located to the left of the scanner glass. Lift the automatic document feeder located under the cover to reveal another glass strip. Clean the glass strip by gently rubbing the moistened soft cloth across the surface of the glass. Dry the glass strip with a chamois to prevent spotting.
Step Five
Return the automatic document feeder mechanism to its original position. Close the automatic document feeder cover. Close the scanner lid.
Step Six
Plug the power cord into an electrical outlet. Turn the HP All-in-One Printer on by pressing and releasing the "On/Off" button one time. Reset the time and date.
