Refrigerator water filters usually can be removed by giving it a counterclockwise one-quarter turn and pulling it out. This water filter can be located in the base grille of the refrigerator or inside the refrigerator compartment. Or a filter can have a large button located next to it that can be pushed to release the filter. Once the filter has been removed, it is best to replace it with a new filter if you have one. If you don’t, cleaning the filter is another possibility.
Gently tap the filter over a waste bin to remove any excess debris.
Set the filter aside to air dry completely. Once dry, place the filter back into position in the refrigerator and gently push into place.
