A drop light offers convenient A/C lighting through a corded lamp, which mounts a standard light bulb. The cord may be retractable into a reel, or it might use a static cord. The bulb is encased in a cage to protect against direct impacts that may break the bulb. However, these bulbs are still susceptible to jolts which frequently break the filament, thereby burning out the bulb. To replace the bulb, you will need to open the cage to access the bulb.
