Hold the other side of the door handle while you are removing the screws so it doesn't fall out as the screws are loosened.
Turn the lock, with the plate on it, so the sharp edge faces the inside of the door. If the latch assembly is inserted incorrectly the door will not latch or lock.
Screw the latch plate in place. Remove the strike plate on the door jamb.
