Baking a cake or cookies on a metal pan in your microwave might sound crazy but this is a viable option when you have a convection microwave. These appliances have different settings to work as a standard microwave or a convection oven. Convection baking works by circulating heat around the food to ensure even cooking. You may need to experiment with your favorite recipes’ baking times and temperatures and modify them for your convection microwave.
Grease and prepare your pans as you would for baking in a regular oven. Pour the batter into the pan or arrange dough on a baking pan for cookies and rolls.
Set the baking temperature of the convection microwave using the keypad and press the "Start" button. You will hear the fan of the convection oven begin working as the machine preheats.
Remove the pan from the convection microwave with potholders when the baked goods are done.
