Fix noisy central heating pipes easily by following this simple ‘how to’ guide. Clanking and clunking noises coming from your heating system is enough to make a person very annoyed. The thought of calling in and paying a considerable amount of money to a plumber to do the necessary work to stop the noises is even more disturbing. Many home repairs and fixes can be done yourself with easily attainable items and at a considerable savings.
Wad up a rag and hold it in one hand so it is directly below the air-bleed valve. The metal valve can be located on the top of the radiator on either the left or right side.
Wipe away with a cloth any water that the rag didn't catch and bleed the air out of any of the other radiators on the system in the same way. Turn the system back on when you are finished bleeding.
