What to do if the strong winds cause a power cut?
Energy companies across the Anglia region are drafting in extra staff to deal with any power cuts caused by Monday’s storm.
UK Power Networks, which owns and maintains electricity cables across the East of England, says it is monitoring the weather closely.
“Our electricity network is built to be resilient but extreme weather can affect overhead power lines when tree branches damage them. We have robust emergency plans in place to cope with severe weather and are arranging additional staff covering engineer, technical and call centre roles.”
