Protect yourself from dust and other small particles by making a temporary dust mask from an undershirt.
Step One
Cut across the top of the undershirt, from armpit to armpit. Make another cut straight up from the bottom of the undershirt. Discard the top portion of the shirt. The remainder of the undershirt will be approximately 3 feet long and 16 inches wide.
Step Two
Fold the length of the undershirt in half to give it double thickness. Lay the fabric flat and cut from the middle of the side toward the center, stopping within 5 inches of the center. Repeat on the opposite side of the undershirt, stopping within 5 inches of the center.
Step Three
Soak the fabric in water and ring out excess moisture.
Step Four
Center the strip over your nose and mouth. Fasten the top strips around the base of your head. Tie the bottom strips in a knot on the top of your head.
