Just like a computer, the default settings for the iPhone’s Safari web browser are to store a user’s web history. This web history includes searches completed through services such as Google, Bing and Yahoo! Erasing search history not only protects your privacy but serves to free your iPhone from temporary Internet files that sometimes bog down the operating system.
Step One
Press “Settings” from the home screen.
Step Two
Press “Safari” to enter the controls for the browser.
Step Three
Scroll down to the bottom of the Safari settings. Press “Clear History,” “Clear Cookies” and “Clear Cache.” When completed, open the Safari browser to ensure the history has been deleted.
Step Four
Take the extra step of switching your search preference and then repeating the above method. To do this, select “Search Engine” at the top of the Safari settings page. Select a different search engine than the one you’re currently using. Repeat the steps and switch your search engine preference back to the original selection
