When you think summer, Great Britain usually doesn’t come to mind as an iconic destination, but the British (maybe in hopes of attracting warmer weather) have created the ultimate summer cocktail: the Pimm’s Cup. I love it because you can accessorize it with fruits and vegetables to make it a different experience every time. Here’s how.
Step Two
Fill pitchers with Pimm's No. 1, lemonade and lemon soda. Set the Pimm's at one end of the table being used as the bar, and the lemonade and lemon soda at the other end.
Step Three
Prepare and cut a variety of fruits and vegetables like: sliced cucumber, mint leaves, lavender flowers, orange wedges, sliced strawberries, whole raspberries, blueberries, sliced fennel, lemons wheels and lime wedges.
Step Four
Fill small bowls with the prepared fruits and vegetables and place them in the middle of the bar table. Use small tongs and spoons as serving utensils.
Step Five
Place highball glasses on a large tray at the beginning of the buffet, and an ice filled bucket next to them.
Step Six
Frame printed instructions so guests know what to do, for example: 1. Fill glass with ice. 2. Add one part Pimm's. 3. Fill glass with fruits and vegetables. 4. Top with lemonade or lemon soda. 5. Make a toast using your best British accent!
Step Seven
When guests arrive, usher them over to the Pimm's buffet and show them how to make a custom cocktail.
