Shrikhand is a very sweet Indian custard. It can typically be purchased in India or Indian stores. However, many people make it at home.
Step One
Make yogurt, home-made style. You will need to use some existing yogurt, most likely brought from a store, to ferment the yogurt. To do this, boil milk inside a large pot on the stove, then place it in the oven. After this, let it cool in the fridge for a few hours until it is a frothy yogurt. You may need to make two full medium-size pots of yogurt because the liquid must be drained out in a later step.
Step Two
Strain the yogurt so that only the fats remain in it, while all the liquid drains away. You can use a strainer, slowly pouring the yogurt through a strainer with a dish to catch all the liquid. This is the easiest way.
Step Three
Garnish with powdered cardamom and stunningly delicious Shrikhand is ready!
