A Netflix-ready device is a Blu-ray player, HDTV, game console or other electronic device that is capable of streaming video from the Netflix Watch Instantly library. A range of Netflix-ready devices is available and all you will need to start watching movies on them is a paid Netflix membership.
Step One
Game Consoles - Nintendo's Wii game console can stream Netflix movies and TV shows.All three major game consoles are Netflix-ready devices. Sony's PlayStation 3 and Microsoft's Xbox 360 both have Netflix applications that can be installed, though Xbox 360 users will have to pay for an Xbox LIVE account to access Netflix streaming. Nintendo Wii users used to have to request a special disc for Netflix streaming, but now an application can be installed from the Wii Shop Channel.

Smartphones and Other Portable Devices - Only a handful of portable devices are compatible with Netflix. These include all models of iPad and iPhone devices, as well as the iPod Touch. Also, Windows Phone 7 devices are now supported. To stream Netflix Watch Instantly movies or TV shows to these devices, a user must download a free application. The application will allow you to log in to your account and begin watching video on your device immediately.
Step Three
Blu-Ray Players and HDTVs - Blu-ray players and HDTVs may come with Netflix applications.Many models of Blu-ray players and high-definition television sets are Netflix-ready devices. These devices are very convenient, as they can eliminate having to connect a second device to your television to enjoy Netflix Watch Instantly titles. Brands with Netflix apps on their Blu-ray players and HDTVs include LG, Panasonic and Vizio, as of 2011.
