Ice is the bane of winter. As bad as it is, it’s worse when you go to get into your car and find that the doors have been frozen shut. You have a few options in handling the matter.
Try another door. If one of the passenger doors will open you can get into the car and start it. Allow it to run until the car heats up enough to thaw the driver’s-side door.
Use deicer. Spray around the frame of the door. Give it a few minutes to work, then try to gently open the door. Do not force it or you may damage the car door.
Use a hair dryer. You will probably need an extension cord, but plug in your hair dryer and blow warm air onto the car door until it releases.
