A screen protector keeps smudges and fingerprints off your device’s screen, and protects the screen from scratches. Though you can buy packs of protectors, you can easily make your own with low-cost clear vinyl. You can use clear sheets or the kind used for book covers — as long as it has a sticky side. You can also use clear packing tape if your device is small enough. The key is to lay it over your device to make sure the screen still works through the protector. If not, you will need a thinner piece of vinyl.
Clean the screen with a spray of screen cleaner and a soft cloth. Make sure it is clean and dry before proceeding.
Cut out the protector and trim it to the dimensions of the screen.
