When it comes to fitness, everyone is a little different. We all have our likes, dislikes and individual goals. One of the biggest factors that will keep you motivated to stick with your routine is to choose activities you enjoy. With all the available fitness information out there today, it is easy to create your own routine.
Step One
Decide where you will exercise. You might choose one place or a combination, such as in your home, in the neighborhood, a local park or at a health club.
Step Two
Choose the number of days you can commit to exercise. Be realistic and pick a number that you know you can stick to.
Step Three
Conduct your own research by seeking out safe exercises on the Internet. Combine this research with looking through popular health and fitness magazines, which often keep up with the latest trends in safe exercise.
Step Four
Find a cardiovascular activity that appeals to you and take part in it for 30 minutes most days of the week. Select those activities that are appropriate for your fitness level and that you enjoy.
Step Five
Incorporate strength training at least two days a week, skipping a day between full body workouts. Choose a variety that interests you, whether it is free weights or a muscle-conditioning group exercise class.
Step Six
Set fitness goals. Gradually increase your intensity and time with cardiovascular exercise and your weight with strength training to gain improvements in your overall fitness.
